Who is the Cooper Joseph Lytle Guild?

In 1999, guild member Alex Lytle’s son Cooper underwent open heart surgery at the age of 2-1/2.  Soon after his recovery, she and 20 friends got together to support Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center.  They formed the Cooper Joseph Lytle Guild in the spring of 1999.  This group of dedicated women decided to raise money for the Children’s Hospital Uncompensated Care Program.   All of our funds are raised through events like our auction.  Your response to these events is what keeps us going.  We are encouraged by the support you and our community give us.  We thank you for your support and giving us that little extra push to try harder each year.

What is the Uncompensated Care Program?

The Uncompensated Care Program allows families without means to pay for healthcare to provide for their children’s well being.  A catastrophic or lifelong illness can wipe out a families insurance limit and devastate their financial resources, while crippling the family emotionally.  We hope to ease the pain by helping to provide the best medical care available.

Our Endowment - Theraputic Play

During the fund a need portion of our auction, we designate this money toward an endowment to fund Theraputic Play at the hospital.  This endownment will provide activities for the patients such as art and game, the 'Clown Care Unit' and other activities that motivate the children and help them deal with often painful, long hospital stays.
